Board Member (Volunteer Role)

Website A Supportive Community For All

Creating a more equitable Snoqualmie Valley, together.

OVERVIEW

A Supportive Community For All (SCFA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established in 2022 with a mission to create a more equitable Snoqualmie Valley by engaging, connecting, and supporting people and organizations to collaboratively build a community where all members can thrive.

We draw on collective impact and community power building frameworks while working with community partners to address inequities in health, housing, financial opportunity, and community connection. We practice equity leaderships skills in all areas of our work, acknowledging that the journey to a thriving community is one that creates space to learn, make mistakes, repair, heal, and grow together.

Our core work is to serve as a centralized access point for human services in the Snoqualmie Valley, providing comprehensive case management support through our partnerships with the Snoqualmie Valley Human Services Coalition and Healthier Here’s Community Hub. As the backbone organization and lead partner in the Snoqualmie Valley Human Services Coalition, we support all aspects of the coalition’s efforts, particularly the Snoqualmie Valley Referral and Navigation Program. In this role, A Supportive Community For All guides partners toward a shared vision, offers training and coordination, serves as fiscal sponsor, and builds capacity to help partners practice equity leadership in both their collaborative and individual work. Additionally, when capacity allows, we provide equity-focused capacity-building services such as fiscal sponsorship, community engagement, and needs assessment. For example, we have supported Snovalley Pride through fiscal sponsorship and capacity-building, and guided an advisory committee in completion of a feasibility study to assess the need for a microbusiness incubator for the City of Carnation.

As an organization, our role is to build community power to support our partners in fulfilling their vision for transformative change. We recognize that this work is a starting point, not an answer, and that equity-focused work is continuous; it requires many voices and a deep, ongoing commitment to dismantling root causes of inequities in the Sno-Valley and elsewhere.
